A Flea Market Treasure

So this happened. I am now the proud owner of a delightful glass cake plate and topper.

I wish I could say I've always wanted one but really, until I saw it, I've never had a desire to own one. Never.

I don't even bake round cakes!

But do you ever see something and feel your heart strings tug a little and decide you must have it?

On a shelf, in between several flea market treasures, there it was. It caught my eye immediately. I stopped and stared and gave it a good consideration, as one would do upon finding such a treasure. And then I walked away empty-handed.

What would I do with a glass cake plate and topper? I don't need a glass cake plate and topper. I didn't even know I wanted a glass cake plate and topper.

Until I wanted one.

This one.

And that's what makes it a treasure.

For now, it sits empty on my kitchen counter. I have no plans of baking a round cake any time soon.
But when I do, I have the perfect glass cake plate and topper!
